Mariana Garcia serves as the project manager for the Wisconsin Network for Research Support, a UW-Madison-based consulting group that seeks to amplify community voice in health sciences research through consultation on grant proposals and projects, orienting project-specific advisory boards, developing strategic agendas, and facilitating advisory board meetings.
Over the course of her previous career as a scientific consultant, Mariana supported a wide range of clients in the medical device, legal, and consumer device industries, leading projects projects ranging from the investigation of a broken hip implant to testing wire coatings that might prevent rats from chewing on car wires.
Mariana’s multidisciplinary education includes a PhD in Vision Science from UC Berkeley, a bachelor’s in bioengineering from Penn State, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
