Matt Mayer

Founder of Arete Initiative, University of Calgary

Matt is a Principal at AioT Health, a Calgary-based healthtech venture capital fund that invests in companies at the intersection of AI to radically improve access and outcomes in healthcare. He is a 2x entrepreneur, consulting across a variety of industries and across sectors. Through his consulting work, he has extensive experience founding and facilitating multi-interest groups to work together on some of the most challenging questions of our time (e.g. facilitating energy transition in Alberta’s energy system, accelerating towards a circular economy in Ontario and Canada, accelerating the adoption of regenerative agriculture in Alberta, and more). In his 15 years of consulting experience, he is known for embedding impact into business models through corporate and sustainability strategy, innovation, and organizational development.

Matt holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Calgary, where he teaches graduate courses on strategy, innovation, and sustainability at the Haskayne School of Business and the School of Public Policy.
