Michael Gietl

Managing Director, Midwest and Canada Life Sciences and Healthcare Services, J.P. Morgan

Mike is a Managing Director with J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, based in Minneapolis, MN. Mike leads the Life Sciences commercial banking team across the Midwest, Intermountain, and Canada regions. He has over 20 years of experience building cross-functional teams focused on deal execution, project management, and sales process efficiency. He leads a team focused on providing financial solutions to early seed, seed, Series A+ and commercialized businesses across every subsector of life sciences, with deep industry expertise around medical device regulatory and reimbursement as well as deep networks spanning venture capital, private equity, contract manufacturing and development, and regulatory.

Mike serves as a director and finance chair of University Enterprise Labs (UEL), an early to mid-stage biotech, agtech and cleantech incubator in St. Paul, MN. He serves as an advisor to the University of Minnesota’s Discovery Capital venture arm and is a member of the University’s Business Advisory Group through the Office of Technology Commercialization. He is a past board member for BETA, a tech and healthcare accelerator in Minneapolis that puts on Twin Cities Start-up Week and is a former Community Board Chair of the Douglas Dayton YMCA in Minneapolis.

Mike received his BBA in Finance, Investments and Banking from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
