Paul Burton is the founder and Managing Partner of 2Flo Ventures, which is a Chicago-based emerging venture capital firm and start-up studio focused on investing in early-stage healthcare (pre-seed to series A).

2Flo Ventures aims to facilitate the flow of innovations, talent, and other resources to and from underserved communities and reduce disparities in healthcare outcomes. It presently has a portfolio of nine companies that employ more than 120 people and collectively raised in excess of $100 million in capital.

Paul has served as the CEO or CFO for numerous start-ups including Vivacelle Bio, ResQ Pharma, and Cancer IQ. Paul started his professional career after law and business school as an investment banking associate at Salomon Brothers Investment Bank in New York City. Prior to grad school, he served as a United States Regular Army Commissioned Officer (Infantry). While an undergraduate student Paul worked as a lab assistant at UIC’s Medical School Pharmacology Department, earning three co-authorships for research published in peer-reviewed journals.

Paul earned his JD and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Paul serves as a board member for numerous organizations including Cardio Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDIO), the Sepsis Alliance, and Ravinia Festival, which is an internationally renowned music festival.
