Simone Poppe is the Managing Director of NewFood Consulting, where she advises corporates, start-ups, and investors navigating the transformation of the global food system. With more than 30 years of leadership experience across the dairy, meat, and agricultural sectors, Simone brings deep operational expertise and a system-level perspective to the emerging New Food economy.
Through her work, she supports clients establishing and scaling businesses in plant-based foods, alternative proteins, fermentation, cultivation, and vertical farming. Her advisory spans partner identification, raw material sourcing, and the design of efficient, scalable production processes. She is also actively engaged in advising investors seeking early-stage opportunities in innovative food technologies.
Before founding NewFood Consulting, Simone held senior leadership roles across the agri-food value chain, including Director of Alternative Proteins and M&A at PHW Group and Vice President of Raw Material Management at DMK Group, where she led large-scale supply and logistics operations. She also gained start-up experience as Chief Operating Officer of an egg-alternatives company, supporting scale-up and operational execution.
Simone is a member of the New Feed & Food Committee of the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and an active mentor and start-up coach, supporting founders and innovation teams shaping the future of food
