Aquila is creating a long-range wireless energy-transmission system using lasers, computer vision and specialised solar panels to transmit energy from one place to another. Their first product, Lightway, enables the electrification of remote sectors, such as mining. Aquila is harnessing the rapidly falling cost of lasers compared to battery technology to overcome renewable energy’s variability and storage challenges.
