Diffraqtion

Diffraqtion is an MIT & UMD spinout that develops a novel Visual Processing and Sensing Unit combining diffractive optics with an optical neural network to overcome the limitations of conventional imaging. The venture addresses the critical challenges of low resolution and slow processing by leveraging quantum information theory to extract enhanced data from each photon. Current imaging systems are constrained by slow AI inference and limited resolution, hindering applications such as satellite detection and high-speed vision at the edge. Early validations, including detection at 20x beyond the diffraction limit (resolution limit of a camera system), demonstrate significant performance improvements over existing vision solutions.
