Epitome Therapeutics is developing a CRISPR-based platform that modulates gene activity without altering underlying DNA. It addresses diseases caused by insufficient expression of functional genes, where traditional therapies cannot properly restore gene levels due to short-lived gene activation, insufficient protein expression, and/or limited control of gene expression. The venture’s platform, CADENCE, offers precise, tunable activation that allows control over the magnitude and duration of gene expression. Unlike conventional gene therapy, Epitome’s approach enables a single-dose reactivation of the body’s own genes with higher safety and reversibility.
