SpaceRake

SpaceRake is developing novel, cost effective wireless communications networks that are interference-resistant and not subject to spectrum licensing constraints. Their cross-platform miniaturized laser communication terminals are compatible with satellites, transportable ground stations, and small drones, allowing the company to address communication challenges where radios fail due to jamming, spectrum allocation, or by revealing the location of the user. Early prototype demonstrations and multiple non-dilutive SBIR grants have paved the way for the company to create next generation networks that adapt to evolving spectrum and physical environments by using radio-free nodes that can be mounted on buildings, satellites, and autonomous AI-driven UAS relays.
