Jeff Spath is a distinguished leader in the energy sector with a career spanning over three decades in industry, academia, and research. He currently leads the US News & World Report’s #1 ranked Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Previously, Jeff was the CEO at the Texas Oil & Gas Institute and dedicated thirty-two years to Schlumberger Limited, where he served as a member of the global executive management team.

A widely recognized industry expert, Jeff served as the 2014 President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and is an SPE Honorary Member. He currently serves as Chairman of Tachyus, Inc., is a board member of Downhole Chemical Systems, and sits on the US Secretary of Energy’s National Petroleum Council and the Accenture Global Energy Board. A prolific researcher focused on innovative energy production and negative emissions, he has published 26 peer-reviewed papers and authored 16 patents.
