Jeff Spath is a distinguished leader in the energy sector with a career spanning over three decades in industry, academia, and research. He currently serves as Chairman of Tachyus, Inc., a leader in advanced AI-driven reservoir management solutions for the oil and gas industry.
Previously, Jeff spent three decades at Schlumberger as President of the Reservoir Management Group. He also held the CEO role at the Texas Oil & Gas Institute and served as the 2014 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) President. Jeff was a Professor and holder of the Stephen Holditch ‘69 Department Head Chair in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University.
He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in Reservoir Engineering from the Mining University of Leoben, Austria. A prolific researcher focused on innovative energy production and negative emissions, he has published 26 peer-reviewed papers and authored 16 patents.
