Dr. Sue Satyro is an Environmental Professional (EP®) certified by ECO Canada, with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s in Environmental Geochemistry, and a BA in Chemistry. Her career spans over a decade of research and development at the intersection of sustainability, materials science, and climate innovation across North America, South America, and Europe.

Dr. Satyro brings technical and strategic expertise in carbon removal, circular economy, and applied R&D across climate-critical sectors, including forestry, mining, and wastewater. Her work includes leading the development of biocarbon materials and building monetization strategies for carbon credit generation. She currently leads applied R&D – industrial and climate at E M Fluids, a global Canadian firm advancing emissions reduction through improved efficiency in hard-to-abate industrial sectors, and mitigating biogenic carbon emissions.

She was selected as a fellow of the Climatebase Fellowship (Cohort 2), where she explored the use of the built environment as a carbon sink. She continues to collaborate with the University of British Columbia and the Fiocruz Institute on advancing low-carbon materials and sustainable wastewater treatment processes.
