Allison Gaw is an experienced life science and drug development business professional with 15+ years in business development and strategy, commercial market research, data and financial analytics, and start-up growth operations. She is currently a principal at Amplitude Ventures, a Canadian healthcare VC fund of savvy investors and proven company builders.
Previously, Allison was the VP of business development at Chinook Therapeutics and also held senior roles in IP, business development, and corporate strategy at Sierra Oncology and Arbutus Biopharma (formerly Tekmira) in Vancouver, BC. Before moving to Vancouver in 2013, Allison was a consultant for numerous life science healthcare clients on the West Coast (US) for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and LEK Consulting. Working in the interface of science and business, she has a passion for driving the advancement of promising life science research and technologies towards development and commercialization to make a difference for patients and doctors.
Allison has a bachelor’s and an master’s in biological sciences from Stanford University, and an MBA in health care management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
