Andrea has an exemplary 20-year track record as a healthcare executive and investor. She is recognized for her ability to evaluate the commercial potential of pharmaceuticals across a range of therapeutic areas, including: immunology, infectious disease, neurology, oncology and ophthalmology, as well as vaccines and treatments for rare diseases. An authentic leader and astute problem-solver, Andrea has scaled teams and operations to deploy more than $1.9-billion in capital and deliver top quartile returns.

With a deep understanding of the challenges facing investors, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies across global markets, Andrea partners with clients to provide counsel as Founder and CEO of Foray Healthcare Advisors. Her engagements focus on strategy development and solving complex diligence problems by applying a commercial lens. She previously served as Chair of the Advisory Committee for DRI Capital and was instrumental in the execution of its successful initial public offering in 2021. She also acted as President and Chief Investment Officer, building the firm’s capabilities and reputation underpinning its performance. In this role, she led the investment team, established and oversaw the investor relations and operations functions and co-led all fundraising and financial activities. Under her leadership from 2003 to 2019, the team tripled in size, and assets under management rose from $125-million to over $2-billion.

Andrea began her career in life sciences at Allelix Biopharmaceuticals Inc., and spent several years working at Aventis Pasteur, now Sanofi. She earned an MBA for Science and Technology at Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo.

Committed to giving back to the industry and institutions that have shaped her, Andrea participates in several biotech incubator programs. She is an Advisory Board member for the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and the University of Waterloo. Andrea champions gender equity, particularly in STEM fields.
