Christy Kaufman

As Vice President, Risk Management at Zillow, Christy Kaufman works across Zillow’s businesses and functions to develop systematic, data-driven strategies and tactics for managing risk throughout the organization. She oversees operations for enterprise risk management, business resiliency, risk financing and insurance, health and safety, and security. She is also the President of Zillow Insurance Services, Zillow’s licensed insurance agency offering P&C insurance products to customers.

Before joining Zillow in 2021, Christy served as Head of Strategy, Governance and Compliance for American Family Ventures. She has also previously held risk management leadership positions for American Family Insurance and Marsh & McLennan Companies and was formerly a consultant for Aon and Ernst & Young where she helped many Fortune 500 clients develop and strengthen their risk management programs. Christy is a faculty member in the Risk & Insurance department of the University of Wisconsin, a member of the University of Wisconsin Risk & Insurance MBA Advisory Board, and a global board director of the Risk & Insurance Management Society.

Christy earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Finance and Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin, and she holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional designations. Christy was honored as an Elite Woman by Insurance Business America in 2021 and a Woman to Watch by Business Insurance in 2017.
