David Dean

Chief Business Development Officer, Canary Medical

David has 20+ years of business development, IR and company analysis experience at leading pharmaceutical, medtech companies and investment banks. As the Chief Business Development Officer at Correvio/Cardiome Pharma Corp and Canary Medical, he identified, analyzed, and negotiated multiple technology license agreements, and led two significant M&A transactions from concept sourcing to the closing of the transactions. Before his corporate career, David was Director and Research Analyst at Canada’s largest independent investment bank, where he built the firm’s healthcare franchise from the ground up into a significant player.

He specializes in identifying and consummating strategic transactions, in- and out-licensing of compelling technologies, M&A as well as strategic investor relations.

David holds an MBA in finance from Queen’s University and an MSc in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Ottawa. He is proud to sit on the Dean’s Leadership Council for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, as well as on the Selection Committee for adMare’s National Accelerator.
