Gavin Smith

Gavin Smith is Chair of ANCA and a Non-Executive Director of MoTeC. He brings extensive board and governance experience across multinational corporations, private enterprises, technology ventures, joint ventures and government advisory bodies.

With more than 40 years’ experience spanning advanced manufacturing, automotive, engineering, technology and industrial sectors, Gavin spent 35 years with Robert Bosch, including 14 years as Regional President, Oceania. In this role, he led complex operations across Australia and New Zealand and oversaw major business transformations, growth initiatives, acquisitions and innovation programs.

In addition to his board roles, Gavin advises technology start-ups and high-growth businesses, mentoring founders and leadership teams through commercialisation, scaling, strategic change and organisational transformation. He has worked extensively with emerging technology ventures, advanced manufacturing businesses and innovation-led organisations, supporting growth, capital investment, governance development and market expansion.
