Hala N. Ballouz, P.E., M.S., is the Founder, Chair of the Board, and Chief Vision Officer of Electric Power Engineers (EPE), one of the industry’s leading power systems engineering and advisory firms. As its Founder and former Chief Executive Officer, she built EPE into a globally recognized organization helping utilities, governments, regulators, developers, technology companies, investors, and large energy users address the world’s most complex electric power challenges while preparing for the next generation of electric power systems.

An internationally recognized energy executive, engineer, entrepreneur, board leader, and thought leader, Hala is helping shape the future architecture of electric power systems. At the heart of her work is a systems-thinking approach to the future of electricity. She helps leaders connect engineering, technology, economics, governance, markets, and public policy to navigate the challenges created by artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, rapid load growth, electrification, and the transformation of the global energy landscape. Increasingly, she is recognized for helping leaders see the electric power system as an interconnected whole rather than a collection of individual technologies or institutions.

In addition to chairing the Board of EPE, Hala serves on the Boards of Directors of Électricité du Liban (EDL)and Groundwork Renewables and is a member of the Texas A&M College of Engineering Advisory Council. She has also founded ENER-I.AI, reflecting her belief that artificial intelligence will fundamentally reshape how electric power systems are planned, operated, governed, and optimized.

Her leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2025 Gulf South Award, the Texas A&M University 2025 Eminent Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Award, and the 2020 Woman in Power Award.
