Irene Yang

Investment Principal (Director), BASF Venture Capital

Irene Yang joined BASF Venture Capital North America in early 2022 and is based in Toronto. She was previously BASF Canada’s Director of Business Development & Innovation, working with several of BASF’s business units on growth plans across industries and leading strategic & innovation partnerships. Joining BASF in 2013, Irene has also worked in BASF’s Asia Pacific and U.S. headquarters. Earlier, Irene held Director of Product Management and Strategic Partnership roles with AMD and was a consultant with McKinsey. Irene earned her MS Engineering (Electrical and Computer Science) and MBA degrees from MIT (Cambridge, MA, USA), and B. Eng. & Management degree from McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada). She was born in Montreal and raised in US and Ontario, is married and has two school-aged children.
