James Crowley

Technology Advisor, Satgana

James Crowley is an entrepreneurial founder, CTO and angel investor with a focus on deep tech. He acts as a technical advisor, guiding impact-driven founders in scaling their start-ups and technology across diverse sectors, ranging from energy to agriculture, finance and health. James is a venture partner at Satgana, supporting pre-seed climate investments across Europe and Africa.

He serves on the board of Boxtribute, an open-source humanitarian logistics platform which has facilitated the distribution of millions of aid items across eight countries. He has also volunteered in Ukraine, Poland and Greece, coordinating with UN agencies, international, and local NGOs to support humanitarian responses there.

James has extensive experience building software products and high-performing teams in complex and highly regulated domains. He co-founded FundApps, a regulatory compliance service that monitors US$17 trillion in assets on behalf of leading financial institutions, before a successful exit to private equity. His previous ventures include a contextual advertising platform and a thriving software developer community.
