Jana Mike is a physician-scientist and angel investor driven by a passion for catalyzing meaningful advancements in overlooked areas of medicine through partnerships with innovative medtech companies.

An MD-PhD with expertise in drug and device development, neuroscience, pediatrics and intensive care, Jana has focused on medical device and digital health startups as an angel investment analyst with the Bay Area’s Life Science Angels group. She also assisted the UCSF Office of Technology Management with technology commercialization, IP diligence, and market analysis, and served as a mentor for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s AI for Web3 for Impact: Venture Studio course and Stanford Intelligent Systems Labs to AI startups focused on healthcare applications. Jana is committed to fostering diversity within the medtech sector and actively contributes to this goal as a member of MedTech Color.

Jana’s scientific research on neonatal brain hypoxic-ischemic injury has garnered recognition and awards. Notably, her contributions to a neurotherapeutic pipeline, supported by funding from the Gates Foundation, have been instrumental in advancing pre-clinical trial safety and efficacy evaluations of neurotherapeutics.

Jana holds an MD and PhD from Comenius University in Slovakia and has completed a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
