Co-Founder, Algae AI Hub

Josefine Staats is an entrepreneur, founder, and company builder working at the intersection of food innovation, sustainability, and algae biotechnology. She founded KULAU and has profitably built the Berlin-based organic food brand over more than 15 years, with a particular focus on algae-based foods. Years of direct sourcing relationships in Asia give the brand both its quality edge and the reach to serve partners beyond its own label. Alongside KULAU, she is building a new deep-tech venture in algae biotechnology and engages at board level in the sector. As a mentor and coach, she supports founders on strategy, scaling, commercialization, and resilient business building. Josefine is an Accelerator Trainer with Entrepreneurs’ Organization and has mentored ventures at TU Berlin’s Venture Campus. She is also selectively exploring early-stage investment opportunities aligned with her domain expertise.
