Karan Arora is the SVP of Advanced Assays, AI, and Pharma Services at Leica Biosystems, a Danaher Company, where he is responsible for advancing precision medicine by building novel cancer diagnostics solutions leveraging AI, new/enhanced bio-markers and multi-modal technologies to enable targeted therapies in collaboration with Pharma, Academia, & Startups, to ensure patients are diagnosed early and can access the best treatments. Before this, he was the SVP of Business Development, Strategy, Global Marketing, and Market Access at @Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher Company.
He has over 24 years of experience driving business growth fueled by strategy, business development, data analytics, and digital leadership. Most recently, Karan served as Chief Commercial Digital Officer at AstraZeneca, leading and upscaling commercial digital, innovating go-to-market models, omnichannel marketing, enabling precision medicine, and building a digital health platform for Chronic Disease Management (AMAZE acquired by Huma).
Before AstraZeneca, Karan held strategic, operational, and leadership roles with Abbott Diagnostics in CCIA, Automation, Digital Health and Informatics, Hospira (A Pfizer company), Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and McKinsey & Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, & Pre-Med from Drake University, an MISM from Devry University, and an MBA from Northwestern University.
Outside work, he is an investor in health-tech and digital therapeutic startups, a mentor at Oxford University’s health accelerator, and a proud United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Division member. In addition, he actively supports sustainability and social programs in Africa.
