Katrin Kaarna MD., neurologist, is currently working as the Head of the Clinical Research Centre of Tartu University Hospital and Institute of Clinical Medicine, Tartu University.
Clinical Research Centre is a competence centre for the clinical research in Estonia. The aim is to ensure high-level medical experimental studies and academic clinical as well pharmaceutical industry trials.
The clinical research center grew out of an infrastructure project funded by the European Union.
In years 1998 – 2017 Katrin was working in biggest global clinical research organization Quintiles (currently named as IQVIA): acting as a Founder and CEO at Quintiles Estonia OÜ; Clinical Research Manager of Baltic States; Strategy Director of Central Europe; Global Lead and Team Member of the ’Risk Based’ monitoring and change management implementation team, Senior Director Clinical Operations.
Katrin has a long term experience as a member of Research Ethics Committee of University of Tartu and acting as a Head of Ethics Committee for Clinical Trials.
