Marie-Chantal Leduc is the executive director at BlockZero Advisors, a boutique management consulting firm that specializes in web3. Since joining in May 2021, she played an instrumental role in the growth and strategy of the organization. She has supported TradFi clients in the exploration of blockchain innovation and digital assets, notably in areas of digital assets custody, DeFi and CeDeFi, tokenization and insurance. Through her work with various industry participants and stakeholders, Marie-Chantal has developed a deep understanding of the different market infrastructures that are being developed across asset tokenization, custody, wallets, exchanges, CBDCs and stablecoins, bitcoin mining and more. Her areas of expertise center around strategy, risk and finance, balanced with regulatory and economic perspectives. As such, she has supported industry leaders in strategy formulation, revenue and financial models, enterprise risk assessment and frameworks, investor decks, fundraising efforts, capital structure, as well as from an operational standpoint, working closely with C-suite management.
Prior to joining BlockZero, Marie-Chantal rapidly evolved to a senior manager position at KPMG Canada, where she led several strategic mandates for the public and private sectors, notably in areas as diverse as AI in the financial sector, blockchain, digital and space health, and advanced manufacturing technologies. She also supported BlockZero’s founder in building the KPMG blockchain practice back in 2017.

Marie-Chantal was also a part-time university lecturer at HEC Montréal in the department of finance for two years. She’s worked at CDPQ, one of Canada’s largest pension funds. She is currently part of the advisory committee on technological innovation (or Comité consultatif sur l’innovation technologique, CCIT) for the Autorité des marchés financiers, Québec’s financial market regulator, where she advises on matters relating to digital assets regulation and other emerging technologies.
