Michael Münnix

Co-founder and Partner, backtrace

Dr. Michael Münnix combines 13 years of experience in venture capital with 14 years of experience in software and hardware development. He is an active business angel, founding partner of the venture capital firm backtrace Capital, and focuses on technology infrastructure.

Previously, he was Managing Partner of the venture capital firm Target Partners, with EUR 330 million in assets under management. He has been active in the IT industry since 1997. His experience includes the development of complex software architectures, the management of IT projects, and the development of hardware for quantum cryptography.

Dr. Münnix has served on numerous advisory boards and was a Venture Partner at the venture capital fund Planet A. He was a scholarship recipient of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and, as part of his doctoral research in theoretical physics, worked as a Fulbright Scholar at Boston University.
