Patrick Bedford is a regulatory expert and experienced leader focused on accelerating cell & gene therapy product development in Canada. He founded a regulatory consulting company that has provided regulatory planning, submission, and advisory services to dozens of early-stage startups and established global biotech companies. He is currently the VP, Regulatory Affairs & Strategic Operations at Morphocell Technologies, which is a liver organoid company developing encapsulated cells to treat liver failure.
Patrick previously supported various cell & gene therapy start-up teams; led clinical trial and New Drug Submissions for industry; and led significant Health Canada policies for biosimilars, transplant material, and cell & gene therapies. While leading these policy initiatives, Patrick also worked internationally to harmonize Health Canada’s approaches with the FDA and EMA. He remains an active educator and contributor to regulatory policy development in Canada.
