Phil Hoffmann serves as an enterprise client leader for Aon’s Enterprise Client Group. In this role, Phil is dedicated to leading Aon’s relationship with several of the firm’s most strategic clients across geographies and solution lines. This includes driving business results for clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of industries served, and accessing the full suite of Aon solutions and capabilities to help clients make better business decisions.

Phil brings together and leads a team of Aon colleagues who, like him, are dedicated to excellence in service to clients and delivering Aon’s one-firm approach. This encompasses identifying and articulating client needs and challenges, drawing from Aon’s depth of resources to deliver desired client outcomes, and ensuring the client understands the full value and scope of Aon’s services. Also critical to his role is a strong focus on investing regular time with the most senior client decision-makers, as well as all client stakeholders, to gain an in-depth knowledge of their business priorities.

He is a 30 year Aon veteran. He has held various positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including analyst, broker, account executive, commercial risk office P&L leader, strategic account manager and now ECL. The majority of his career has been spent working with complex, multinational risk accounts with a heavy manufacturing focus.

Prior to his ECL role, Phil led the Aon Wisconsin Large/Complex Commercial Risk Practice. He remains a member of the SAM (Strategic Account Management) group, in which he serves as a resource for other account executives in the United States and around the world.

Phil has managed a diverse book of commercial business, including clients based throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland and China. At one point in his career, he managed Aon’s relationship with two Fortune 50 clients.

Phil has deep experience in multinational account P&C brokerage, alternative risk financing, captive management, and consulting resource management (loss control, claims, actuarial, etc.). As an ECL, Phil has expanded this role to include global benefits and human capital strategies.

He has been involved in helping the venture arms of his clients connect with Aon and outside resources to develop distribution models or assist in assessing market interest in new product development.

Phil earned both his master’s in risk management and his BBA in finance and risk management and insurance from the University of Wisconsin Madison. He was named a 2021 Risk & Insurance Power Broker and a 2022 Risk & Insurance Power Broker Finalist. He earned the 2014 UW Madison Actuarial Science, Risk Management & Insurance Distinguished Friend award.
