Ramzi Schumann is an international investor, board-level advisor, and senior executive with 37 years of experience in food, agribusiness, and food security. Based in Qatar, he has held leadership roles in operating companies, sovereign wealth–backed platforms, and private equity, focusing on agribusiness transformation, investment strategy, and sustainable food systems.
Throughout his career, Ramzi has worked across the full value chain of food and agriculture, including poultry, dairy, hydroponic vegetables, aquaculture, and integrated supply chains. He has led large-scale business transformations, structured investments, and supported growth initiatives in complex, capitalintensive environments.
His work combines operational depth with strategic and financial expertise.
Ramzi currently serves as Director and MENA Advisor to Freedom Holding. He is a Venture Partner for Lever VC in the GCC region, supporting investments in foodtech and agtech, and an advisor to Nourish Ingredients. He is also the co-founder of an AI consultancy firm focused on helping organizations identify where artificial intelligence can enhance productivity, efficiency, and long-term value creation.
He serves on several boards, including Oman Food Capital (USD 1.5 billion in assets) under the ownership of the Oman Investment Authority. In addition, Ramzi is actively involved in mentoring entrepreneurs and supporting innovation ecosystems through initiatives such as INFINITE and HEC Paris Capstone MBA projects.
Ramzi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and General Studies from Cornell University and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris (TRIUM EMBA, a joint program with HEC Paris, NYU Stern, and LSE)
