Sam Vinko
Role: Associate
Sites: CDL-Berlin, CDL-Paris
Stream: Next Gen Computing
Sam is Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Trinity College. He pioneered the use of X-ray free-electron lasers to study extreme states of matter and leads experimental and computational programmes in strongly coupled quantum plasmas. His research integrates physics-based simulation and machine learning to advance the modelling of large-scale complex systems.
He is a recipient of the APS John Dawson Award for Excellence in Plasma Physics and the IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics. Sam is co-founder of Mach42, an AI-driven analogue verification spinout from the University of Oxford, and co-founder and CTO of Numeriquai, a London-based reliable AI startup.
