Chief Strategy Officer and COO, Accipiter Biosciences

Will Canestaro is Chief Strategy Officer and COO at Accipiter Biosciences, a Seattle company using de novo protein design to build therapeutics for oncology and autoimmune targets. He runs its business development, strategy, and financing. Before Accipiter, he spent nine years investing for the Washington Research Foundation where he made 37 investments in 30 early-stage life science companies. He is also a Venture Partner at Pack Ventures and a translational advisor to the UW Institute for Protein Design. Will teaches health innovation at UW Foster and meta-analytic methods at the UW School of Pharmacy, and has written more than 30 papers on how new therapies get valued and paid for. He has a PhD in health economics from the University of Washington and an MSc in medical anthropology from Oxford.
