Charlie Nave
Before joining Monash Business School in April 2023, A/Prof Nave worked in global institutional finance, innovation and advisory for 20 years. For a majority of his career he has been an analyst and advisor to the world’s largest hedge funds on a broad range of special situations strategies including mergers and acquisitions, holding company structures, dual listings and activist investment.
Based predominantly in Singapore, A/Prof Nave’s work focussed largely on Asia-Pacific equity markets including China, India, Japan, Australia and South East Asia, where he has also built a trusted network within the private and public sectors. In recent years he also led a research team investing with a long-only strategy in global technology platforms.
Further to this, A/Prof Nave has developed a significant body of work detailing and breaking down complex business models and deep technology solutions. This work has explored global e-commerce, payments, logistics, the semiconductor ecosystem, autonomous and electric mobility and other core innovation themes.
He has also been an advisor to multiple organisations including the deep technology incubator Houston Technology Centre (HTC), restructuring firm PPB Advisory (now part of PwC), Platinum Equities-owned Sensis on revenue strategy and multiple Asian-based technology companies on strategy and successful growth-stage capital raising activity.
